When you order eligible custom-fit footwear from Syntilay, you can scan your feet using your phone camera—no special equipment and no app required.
The process takes just a few minutes and gives us the measurements and geometry we need to create your shoes around your feet.
Step 1: Order Your Shoes
Start by ordering your Syntilay shoes normally through our website. Choose the design you want, complete checkout, and use an email address you can easily access.
After your order is placed, we’ll send a personal foot-scanning link to your email. You do not need to download an app. The scanning experience opens directly through a web link on your phone.
Your foot scan must be completed within 48 hours of placing your order so we can begin preparing your custom shoes.
Step 2: Grab Your Phone and a Piece of Printer Paper
To complete your scan, you’ll need:
Your smartphone
One standard piece of printer paper
Your feet—socks on is okay
A few minutes
The piece of paper provides a known reference point that helps the scanning technology understand the dimensions and scale of your feet. Follow the instructions provided through your personal scanning link.
Step 3: Take Two Photos
Instead of trying to describe your feet with a traditional shoe size, the scanning process uses your phone’s camera to capture information about your actual feet.
You’ll be guided through taking two photos. That’s it. No special scanner, no appointment, and no app download.
Step 4: We Extract Thousands of Data Points
Your photos are processed to extract approximately 5,000 data points about your feet. This allows us to understand your foot geometry in far greater detail than simply knowing that you traditionally wear a “size 9” or “size 10.”
Your feet aren’t just a number. The scan gives us the information needed to create a custom digital representation of your feet and prepare your footwear accordingly.
Step 5: We Make and Mail Your Shoes
Once your scan has been successfully completed, Syntilay uses your foot data as part of the process of creating your custom footwear. Your shoes are made to order and then shipped directly to you.
There is no inventory shelf where we find a generic pair labeled with your size. Your order begins with your feet.
